What's the story?

The Groundhog Blues Club was created in memory of legendary guitarist, singer, songwriter Tony McPhee, who died in 2023 in Wellington, Shropshire. Tony Loved Wellington and he loved the Blues. Unsurprisingly we called the club after his band The Groundhogs.

We aim to organise seasons of monthly Blues gigs, and annual events, in Wellington presenting musicians of International, National standing and local emerging musicians.
